Abstract: The budget agreement between the President and congressional leaders allows for a tax cut; increased benefits for individual retirement accounts have been included in the Ways and Means proposal. The Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee has also proposed increased benefits for IRAs. IRA expansion was also in the Contract with America and Presidential proposals.
